STUDY ROOM APPLICATIONS

When you arrange your desk, you must think of it as the heart of your study room, the focal point where you unfold your activity when tending to your career.
On a list of priorities, your work desk ranks highest in defining your quality of life after the bed you sleep in and the stove you use to cook your food. This is because your desk is where you think, write, and make important decisions or phone calls. It is your power centre and the launching pad of your career.

Placement

If you want to pick the best location for your work desk, you must sit on your chair behind it and be able to see the entrance door to the study. If the space you work in has no door, you must position yourself so that you are able to see the entrance to the room or space you work in. If there are several doors, try to sit in a way that allows you to see the door that’s most frequently opened.

Also concerning work desk placement, try to locate the desk as far back as you can inside the room, so that you’ll be able to have the amplest view of the space.
Avoid placing your work desk in direct line with the entrance door at all costs. Otherwise, you’ll be faced with a lot of noise and interruptions.

Shapes

The best shapes for your desk are square, round, oval or rectangular. Instead, you must avoid an L-shaped desk, as this suggests incompleteness. An L-shaped desk can diminish your authority, impede your communication with your colleagues or superiors, and even cause chronic health problems.

Size

As for the size of your work desk, it should be big enough for you to feel comfortable, but not too big in relation to the size of the room, so that the chi flow circulation is not impeded. If this is your desk at the office, it should reflect the rank and power of its occupant. But of course, you must factor in the size of your manager’s desk and keep smaller proportions.
